Proper nail care, like most things that require maintenance, is easiest when you devote a minute or two, daily. Once you’ve performed your perfect manicure, keeping your nails looking great will be simple. The best thing about this nail care routine is that it can be done virtually anywhere or anytime you have a few minutes. Refer to the Daily Checklist below to keep your hands and nails looking their best!
Your Daily Checklist
- Wash your hands regularly, particularly if they are visibly dirty. Washing your hands helps to cut down on sickness and infection, and it also helps you to maintain a clean, neat appearance. Dirty nails are one of the fastest ways to give a bad impression, so make sure yours are clean! Investing in a high quality nail brush will make this a quick, enjoyable process. Think of it as a mini-massage for your fingertips.
- Keep your nails trimmed and smooth. Broken nails happen, but it’s important to repair them as soon as possible. Carry a nail clipper to quickly trim any broken nails, and a nail file to smooth any rough or chipped edges. Repairing your nails quickly helps your hands to look their best, but also prevents possible damage to the nail or your possessions by ensuring that the nail doesn’t snag on anything. Also, giving your nails a quick file regularly will keep them at the desired length and shape. This will eliminate the longer job of re-cutting and re-filing every nail when they all become overgrown.
- Keep your cuticles from becoming jagged, dry and overgrown. Healthy cuticles project the image of healthy, youthful hands and this is truly the most time-consuming aspect of nail care. While you will still have to regularly push the excess cuticles back with a cuticle pusher, keeping them moisturized on a daily basis will help to increase the time between grooming sessions. Use a multi-purpose moisturizer for both hands and cuticles for increased convenience.
- Moisturize your hands and nails. To keep hands looking and feeling supple and youthful, make sure to moisturize at least once per day with a lotion or cream that adds moisture and absorbs quickly. Be sure to rub the lotion into the tops and bottoms of your hands, as well as into each cuticle and nail. To save time, try an overall moisturizer like our Denco Naturals Hand & Cuticle Repair Cream; it’s great for skin, nails and cuticles.
